Hmm.. its always a tough dilemma. I don't know what is missing in the puzzle. I have actually mostly become a rubyist with the following reasons: 1. Rails are very productive and cohesive. Castle project has a lot of things to configure before you could move smoothly. That is ok if you keep using it, but like me if I have put it down for a longer while then I am just a dead man and looks so bad :( 2. Finding hosting for ASP.NET are PITA. I can get a decent (read- decent mean with reasonable speed and very reliable) at $3.59/mo, for windows hosting, damn. I am sick of it. Both performance and cost wise are terrible. 3. While Rails revise a lot too, it seems like have more concrete release cut off, so once you freeze gems you are fine. It seems not the case for castle, everything keep enhancing it in a way I always can't discover my child after a few weeks :(
I hope one day MR and the entire Castle is successful really, but for now... I am just kinda frustrated, frustrated enough to even consider trying ASP.NET MVC. I hope if Castle gain support like the way ASP.NET MVC is doing, the story would properly change quite a bit. Why MS have to create something from the ground again.... God bless Castle.
