Title: Getting Castor to support polymorphic collections
Hi All
Unfortunaly i also can't give you a advice for to implement polymorhism.
However, I also suffer from the lack of polymorhism, because my application
needs. As a result I'm damned to use castor 0.8.11.
So if you try to implement I would offer my help

Guys -

Castor seems to be the best open-source implementation around, but it's such a shame that you can't specify abstract classes in the mapping XML file, because we often want to specify that one table links to another table which is made up of different subclasses.

Has anyone thought about how this can be done?  I'm starting to look at the code and see how much work is involved, but if anyone could give me a few pointers, I would be very grateful!  If it's not too much work, our company might be quite keen to try to implement it...

(I assume you need to specify a row in the table which holds the name of the classs to instantiate, and also have a mapping for each subclass in the XML mapping file.)

Cheers!
Richard :)
