maybe you have the wrong database jdbc url.
should be point to 127.0.0.1 (or localhost) not your hostname since
this one is normally assigned to the 'online' IP.
but please use the castor mailing list for problems/help.
i'm no longer involved in castor development because i don't have
time (project stress).
