I recently ran a
profiler on my application which uses Castor
for manipulating and
marshaling/unmarshaling of XML files.
I found it
interesting that with a small XML file (< 50 elements)
that there are many
many invocations of methods within the
XMLFieldDescriptorImpl class and that my application
spends 47%
of its time in this
class. The breakdown in the methods shows these
as the most highly
called: equals, getFieldName, getHandler, isReference,
getValidator,
...
Is a typical
execution profile for most Castor applications? Is there
anything
I can do to speed up
execution of castor code?
Thanks,
