Comparing Castor JDO with JDBC for performance reasons is like comparing
apples to horses - it is a HIGHLY unmatched test. Castor performs caching,
object relation managment, object transaction management, etc., etc. that
JDBC does not do at all. So there is cerainly going to be a big difference
in performance.
As far as improving performance there is no silver bullet for this. It
almost always needs to be guaged on a case by case basis. If you can
provide some additional relevant detail we may be able to make some
suggestions.
