Roy, by all means, yes. I am sure e.g. Keith is already having a close look at your patch. And more patches (incl. a problem description) are definitely welcome and appreciated, whether for XML or JDO.
In general, though, please bear in mind that this is open source software, and thus depends upon us committers and our ability to free up time for this work without having to sacrify jobs, familiy life, etc. Iow, please have a bit of patience.
