You have to go approx. half way up the mast to attach the lines. sorry.
Even if you put on a Sail Cradle system (Don't have to slot your sail
cover), you still have to go up the mast about half way.

Has anyone installed a lazy jack system? I'd like to add one before next
season and I'd like to think I can do it myself. I'm wondering if I'll
need a bosun's chair, or if I can attach the lines high enough on the mast
by standing on the boom, or maybe a ladder. I'd like to avoid being hauled
up the mast if at all possible because I'm not very confident of the
condition of the main halyard sheave at the masthead. (Replacing it is a
project for another day.) Has anyone had experience installing lazy jacks?
Any preferences on brand?
