I like all the suggestions so far. Another no-brainer is to sail in the
vicinity of other boats. I usually keep a waterproof VHF radio clipped
to my tethered PFD. West Marine seems to have a nice Icom HT on sale for
$109. Heck thats less than the PFD.

Thinking about trying it alone this coming year. Installed an
autohelm last year, next year lazy jacks. Already have the requisite
auto-inflatable PFD. But have not figured out the best way to get
back in the boat if I happen to fall in and the boat is nearby.
Any thoughts, suggestions, experiences?
