On the 3/8 inch jib sheets.

I recommend that you go half inch or 5/8.  This is not for the strength
of the line but for the
Comfort of the crew.  The larger line is much easier on your hands.

Yes I know it is more expensive but my old captain from the race boat
always swore that 
"I spent extra $$$ on those %^$# sheets for YOUR comfort".

I heard that often enough that I believe him and did the same when I
bought my boat.

Now if you fly a spinnaker that is another story.  You need both high
wind AND light wind
