Thanks Chris - I'll look at both books. I was curious about the stainless handrails - I'll probably just refinish the ones I have. I was planning on taking them off this Spring prior to launch while the boat is in the cradle and nicely wrapped with her winter coat (tarps). I tried to sand/stain one last Fall as a test while the boat was still in the water - what a nightmare... no good place to sit/stand while sanding/staining - the finished product looks worse than before!

I have the Casey book and it is quite good, it starts out with the basics. But it does not get terribly advanced, and in my opinion it caters to those who want the finished work "good enough" and not necessarily "perfect". But it will cover the work that yo! u want to do.
