Yes, agreed. If there are visible indications that the rigging has decayed from the factory job, or just plain age may be creeping in - replace it with better stuff.
 
And after I slept on my comments I began to worry that if one tests such a rig under tension, that if it fails catastrophically there will be a lot of wire and steel flying through the air, which would injure anyone who is in the way.  VERY BAD.
 
SO TO MY PREVIOUS POST I MUST ADD - WARNING, STEEL WIRE AND THINGS UNDER TENSION STORE A LOT OF ENERGY, WHICH IF RELEASED FAST IN A FAILURE CAN DO GREAT BODILY HARM.
