My '74 has three holes at the base of the mast. Threaded holes on each side accept machine screws (3/16 inch I think) by which a bail is attached to the mast -- the bail is the attachment point for the boomvang. An unthreaded hole in front of the mast is a weep hole.

Hello, I,m getting ready to put the mast up on my 1975 C-27 for the first time and noticed there are 4 holes in the bottom of the mast and in the cabin top mast base, however there are no connectors to be found. What do I use? pins? screws? any help with this would be much appreciated and thanks in advance. Kind regards, Mike. C-27 hull# 1801
