Dan, I also have the SOSpenders with integral harness.  I figure the harness will get my butt out of the water after the inflatable saves me.  I haven’t had to do anything to mine in 2-3 years.

However, last Sunday I was racing on someone else’s boat in 20-25 and mild rain.  Needless to say, I got soaked.  Afterwards, I put my vest in the back of my Escape.  Two days later, I go in the back to clean up (I never said I was neat!) and my vest is inflated!  I don’t know if the handle caught on something or what.  I’ve left it inflated for 5 days so far, just to make sure there weren’t any slow leaks.  Time to re-pack it.

Very comfortable to wear in any weather.

Dan B - I have had a West Marine Sospenders automatic inflatable for last five years.

I singlehand most of the time.  It has built in ring for lifting purpose.  I am

6'1" and sevelt 220 lbs and inflatable is very comfortable.  Light weight and not too hot to wear when temp hits 96 plus.  No problem with maintenance.  It is suggested to replace cartridge now and then ( three years?) but you need to look at factory suggestion on replacement.  Easy to do  Others may have different suggestions.
