Ted,

It's very likely that CD buys them from Ronco.  Many (perhaps most) builders do.

All, Thanks for the info, I'm not familiar with Ronco. I was thinking of getting the correct tank from Catalina Direct. Is the Ronco tank better or simply another choice?

Yup did that on the 82 I used to own.  It's an ugly job but not hard.  Most likely cause for the odor if there are no obvius leaks are the black hoses - they are absorb the smell - replace them with the white sanitory hoses - they don't absorb the smell.   The quick test to see it's the hoses is to put a damp rag around a section leave it on for a while take it off and sniff it to see if it's picked up any ordors.   As to the tank, mine was driping because it was cracked where the fitting went into it - the way the hose was originally installed put a lot stress on it.  You can get a replacement tank from Ronco, you need to take accurate measurements of your old tank and also measure and tell them where to install the fittings.  The tank in mine was under the vberth and it was a pain to get out.  Obviously make sure it's pumped out before you start - I know somebody who did work on his and forgot - not a pretty sight.  Bew are it will still have "stuff" in it even after it's pumped out.  I cheated and waited until it got cold enough to freeze things before I took mine out and worked fast so it wouldn't melt in my hand!

The season is ending for me but I am planing some work in the early spring. Number one on the list is to replace the holding tank. I have an 82 and it seems that there is a slight odor that originates from the holding tank compartment. Its not really foul but it is not sweet either. I have done a visual and find no leaks but I suspect the tank is original and is probably getting tired so I would like to replace it before it fails. I know Catalina direct sells replacements. Has anyone had experience replacing the holding tank?
