The walk through mast support makes the boat accessible on the road and
makes the ladder useable from the ground.

The A frame on the mast step while I trailer is a roller also so I can roll
the mast into position except for lifting the lower spreaders through at one
point.

you are a genius! I have been thinking of changing to a trailable but do
most sailing solo but with ideas like that I might just go mobile.

The last one looks a little crazy.

I do mine single handed in twenty minutes. It’s More if we’re talking boom
and running rigging but 20 for the mast.

http://www.catalina27.org/wingtip/mastsys/mastsys.html

No need to climb anything and the hardest part physically is standing the
whisker pole on end. It requires a tabernacle or deck hinge but it is very
secure.

I’ve done it in high winds and I even had a non sailing 225 lb nephew jump
boat amidships to clear a line a roll the boat 10-15° with the mast at 45°
angle.

Don,
I use this system.

Works great, except hard to raise A frame on boat

Here is another way which uses a 28' extension ladder. I plan on trying this
for next time.

Jeff, nice rig. How do you get the mast up/down?

Or you can purchased a late model C-27 and a new trailer for less than the
cost of a used C-270 alone. I purchased my 1988 C-27 Wing keel and tiller
model with a new Mercury 9.9 4 stroke for $10500 last year. The motor alone
was worth $2000.
I put in on a brand new 10000 lbs., dual axle Trail-Rite trailer made
specifically for the C-27 for around $7000. The only things I gave up are a
walk through, wheel steering and diesel inboard. However, with the outboard,
I have the whole engine compartment for storage and boat is lighter for
trailering.

I pull the boat with a 2005 Nissan Titan 4X4 Crew cab with no problem.
