Be sure to take it fully apart to ensure that the pump housing and casting are fully functional. The pump housing or flanges often are cracked. A rebuild kit is rather expensive, and of no value if the pump is not rebuild able. (I learned this by hard knocks experience!)
Westmarine carries both replacement pumps, rebuild kits and new heads. I'm sure that a WWW search will find many other marine stores have the parts. Look at the costs, I finally replaced the Catalina factory Groco head with a new Groco HF Series head. I purchased the exact Catalina factory replacement hoping that the mounting holes would match. The mounting flanges did not match. The next best solution, I used the old Groco bottom aluminum casting and attached the new pump and bowl. Looks good, works good! There are other options, assuming you have an old Groco. You will also find HF upgrade kits on the WWW.
