We have a tidal grid at our sailing club that we used to use for quick
bottom cleans etc. Can no longer do bottoms due to environmental
restrictions but can still use it to change zincs, etc. Pic of my boat on
the grid at HYPERLINK

nGrid5.jpg taken quite a few years ago. Notice no extra support on the bow.
It is held up by lines to the foreshore. Yes it is leaning a bit
forward…but that was done on purpose too at the recommendation of other C27
owners. It is tricky to get it positioned right and we basically had to
boat-sit all night as the tide went out to make sure the lines were adjusted
as needed while she settled onto the grid.

Subject: catalina27-talk: This is an interesting photo of a Cat 27

This list has been very quiet lately, I suppose everyone is in the final
planning stages for coming to the Annapolis Sailboat show next week!
Seriously, I subscribe to the Jaguar sailing email list. Jaguars, as you
may or may not know are mostly Catalina that were licensed to be made and
sold in the UK. If you ever want to feel really good about the purchase
price of a Cat 27 go look at what a Jaguar 27 fin keel (yes the make bilge
keels version) sells for. It will knock off your socks and then remember
that the British Pound is about double the value of a US Dollar (1 Pound is
2 US $).

On that list there has been an interesting discussion about “drying” out the
boats… then there was this post by a guy who was buying the boat.

“The surveyor clambered all over her without any problems (as did I). I
wouldn't have been quite so happy without the extra support though!
Here's a picture I took of her at the time...the extra support can be
seen in place: dried out <HYPERLINK
