Dear Friends:

Yes, it has been almost two weeks since the last update and we offer our
profound apologies. Since coming home from the hospital on December 11 Adam
has
made good and continuous progress in regaining strength, appetite, mobility,
and voice. However, since getting Adam back home it also meant it was time to
catch up on all things neglected: mail, cleaning, pets, and the other
children...and this has kept us quite busy.

Adam has made a couple of trips out of the house to go to church and visit
friends at work. The physical, occupational, and speech therapists have been
coming to the house and will do so for another week. After this, Adam will be
going to outpatient therapies. His trach is about healed The hospital
removed the hardware the day he came home and the only instructions that were
given
to us about the care was to change the dry bandage daily. The first couple
of times in changing the bandage was an adventure. Adam sees the doctors at
Shock Trauma on December 24 and then he will have doctor appointments for the
next several weeks.

Please continue to pray for Adam to regain health, to avoid colds, and to
have discernment about the timing to go back to work and school.

We thank God for our son being restored to us and we praise Him for the gift
of His Son as we celebrate Christmas. Matthew 1:23, NIV (a quote taken from
Isaiah 7:14), 23"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son,
and they will call him Immanuel"—which means, "God with us." It is the
presence of God through His Son in our lives that gave us the strength each day
to
face whatever came.

We hope to write a little more detailed update in about a week. Thank you
for your kind support. It means a great deal to us and, especially, to Adam.

Dave and Lisa
