Hi Ted, I believe there are three types of stanchions sold. 10 degrees in , straight up and 10 degrees out. I replaced two of my stanchion a few years back after a boat had slip her mooring and stove my stanchions in.
I should mention that I went with the 10 degrees out on the stanchions at the cabin because with the dodger up it would give me a little more room to get around the dodger. The down size of this change was that I ended up changing the life lines as the old ones came up a little short (they were also damaged in the collision).
