Hi again all,
PCC has published new revisions of the BIBCO Standard Record (BSR) and CONSER Standard Record (CSR). New BSR The new BIBCO Standard Record MAP revision is dated February 18, 2015, and completely replaces all previous versions. You can find it at the same link <http://www.loc.gov/aba/pcc/scs/documents/PCC-RDA-BSR.pdf> as always, as well as on the RDA Cataloging Reference Shelf <http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/catalog_dept/rda-cataloging-reference-shelf> page. Changes in this revision are relatively minor and are as follows: - 2.17.6 Note on Production Statement: removed from PCC Core (formerly required for moving images when the date of production differs from the date of publication) - 3.4 Extent: for online resources, recording “subunits” (e.g. number of pages in a PDF file) now is required only if readily ascertainable AND necessary for identification - 6.22 Participant in a Treaty: removed from PCC Core for 7XXs only (name as part of the AAP for a work/expression is still required) - “Notes” column guidance for rare materials: references to DCRM modules updated; some other minor updates New CSR The new CONSER Standard Record MAP revision is dated April 14, 2015, and completely replaces all previous versions. It is now available as a PDF file <http://www.loc.gov/aba/pcc/conser/documents/CONSER-RDA-CSR.pdf> , and is linked from the RDA Cataloging Reference Shelf <http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/catalog_dept/rda-cataloging-reference-shelf> page. Changes are as follows: - 2.5.4 Statement of Responsibility Relating to the Edition: added to PCC Core for rare materials only - 2.9.X Distribution Statement elements: removed from PCC Core (formerly required when Publication Statement elements are not identified) - 2.10.X Manufacture Statement elements: removed from PCC Core (formerly required when Publication Statement elements, Distribution Statement elements, and Copyright Date are not identified) - 2.11 Copyright Date: now recommended (formerly required) for rare materials - 18.5 Relationship Designator: added to PCC Core (this is a clarification for continuing resources, not a change in practice) Any questions may be addressed to this list. Thanks, Trina
