---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 As a reminder, San Francisco's Pride Parade will take place on Sunday, June 28. The parade route is runs down Market Street; thus, Market Street will be closed from approximately 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Moscone Convention Center and the Marriott Marquis are located on the south side of Market Street; all other hotels are on the north side. No one is allowed to cross Market Street during this period, even if there are breaks in the parade, including before the parade kicks off at 10:30 a.m. Council I starts at 8:30 a.m., so if you are staying at a hotel other than the Marriott Marquis, you will have to plan accordingly. Your options are to walk around the parade route, cut through the BART stations that go under Market Street, or take the shuttle busses. You can check the shuttle bus schedule here: http://alaac15.ala.org/files/alaac15/AC15_ShuttleFlyer_Final060315.pdf. Busses will start running at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, one hour earlier than normal. More information about the Pride Parade and other events taking place this coming weekend can be found here: www.sfpride.org/<http://www.sfpride.org/>. Safe travels everyone....see you soon! Sunday, June 28 at 10:30-11:30am Moscone Convention Center (MCC) Room 236-238 South The session will focus on regional and community-based audiovisual preservation and outreach. Two presentations will focus on programs that help smaller institutions or individuals recognize the importance of their materials and their preservation needs. We will discuss how these programs spread preservation awareness, publicize grant opportunities, and provide training. Lauren O'Connor and Kelly Haydon from the Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) will discuss its Preservation Access Program. With funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, this program offers institution-level preservation services to artists and smaller organizations at a price that they can more easily afford. In addition, they will discuss AV Compass - an online educational resource that distills audiovisual preservation concepts and empowers users to create personalized preservation plans. Siobhan Hagan will introduce AMIA's Regional Audio Visual Archives Committee (RAVA) and its current projects. She will also talk about a recent survey conducted by the Committee to identify the underserved areas of the nation in AV preservation and to learn and gain assistance from the more successful regional models. Hope to see you there.
