Adventures in Online Learning, Copyright, and Massive Open Online Courses,? Sunday, June 28th, 3-4 pm in MCC West, Room 2014. As online learning proliferates, universities expect libraries to be more involved in licensing and copyright support. From Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to distance learning, continuing studies, to flipped and blended courses, content selection that engages students and supports instruction is key. However, content can have rights restrictions that limit use in open environments. Come to hear about some general trends and statistics and to Learn from librarians in the trenches about the challenges and opportunities of online learning support. Presenters: Ronda Rowe is the Licensing & Content Management Librarian for the University of Texas Libraries at the University of Texas at Austin. She leads the University of Texas Libraries? local licensing and assists with the University of Texas consortia licensing. Mimi Calter is Associate University Librarian & Chief of Staff at Stanford University Libraries. She is engaged with many aspects of library administration, including policy development and implementation, budgeting, space planning, and security, with a special focus on copyright issues. She also manages the libraries' facilities and purchasing departments. Heather Staines is Director, Publisher and Content Strategy for ProQuest SIPX. She is Chair of the ALCTS CRS ERPCC.
