There is a YouTube video available called "Cataloging ETDs in RDA," https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4d-Aq3saRg
Please share with whomever you think may be interested. It is also on NDLTD's instructional video channel on YouTube, https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkkCGJAzvhIino9V87hK2aRbmNJSbGuKH This video has three goals: 1. To provide the information needed to create bibliographic records for electronic theses and dissertations using RDA and MARC. 2. To share information about the OhioLINK consortium's standards for cataloging ETDs, which can be adopted or adapted by others. 3. To describe time- and labor-saving ways to generate the descriptive portion of bibliographic records, by using constant data and metadata harvesting. This is a presentation I prepared for the ETD 2015 India Conference, <http://www.etd2015india.in/> http://www.etd2015india.in/ , NDLTD's annual international conference on ETDs, which took place in November 2015. (I put it on YouTube because at the last minute I was unable to go to the conference in person.) If you would like to read the paper I prepared on this topic for the conference proceedings, or get the PowerPoint slides from the video, please write to me at [email protected] . Feel free to write with comments/constructive criticism also. (Ms.) Sevim McCutcheon Catalog Librarian; Assoc. Prof. Kent State University Libraries 330-672-1703 [email protected]
