There is this girl named Leah, 19 years old, married, and just had a baby in November named Carter. About 1 month ago, she posted a Blog saying how she had her 3 month check up from being cancer free, only to find out it has returned and is in Stage 3. It has spread to her breast and lymph nodes. The doctor is only giving her 6 months. She's so young and it's just so heartbreaking. She seems so sweet and of course all of us are there for her, giving her positive posts, and are praying for her. She has been so positive for the most part and saying, "It's just cancer..I'm not going to stop living. It's not the end of the world..." However, she posted something January 11th saying she was depressed and was going to give up. Below is her actual message with her picture (she is wearing a wig in it because she has lost her hair from the chemo)...
"The truth of it all is that I have six months to live. No matter how you cut it, miracle or no miracle, I have six months to live. Six months is twenty four weeks. Six months is one hundred and sixty eight days. Six months is seventy less years than I want to spend with Carter, with John, with my family. Six months is less than one eighth of the time they think it will take Evan to say her first word. Autism has robbed her breath of speech, clouded her mind with rose colored glass that lends her a world none of us understand. Six months means the difference in me hearing my baby sister ever tell me she loves me. Six months is half of a year, the time left before Ethan turns nine. Ethan turns nine, then ten, then twenty, then he's married and has kids of his own. Six months is three months shy of the ten year anniversary of Leisel's death. In six months, my mother will bury her second child, her best friend, her oldest daughter, her "sissy." The truth of it all is that I know, while I sit there going through chemo again, that it isn't going to make a difference, because I've already given up. I succeeded in doing what I wanted to with my life, to participate in life's greatest miracle, child birth. I have borne my husband a lifelong friend and left a piece of me on this earth. I have six months to live and I'm counting every second, chasing the minutes and trying desperately to hold on to one more second." <http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y294/MusicalSandrine/?action=view¤t=009-4.jpg> Photobucket I'm not sure who the people are that she's talking about. I think they might all be her sisters. It just makes me cry. Every one has their moments of "why me." You can't expect someone to stay positive about this sort of thing all the time. I don't know how she's been as strong as she has this whole time. She truly is great and I sure have been praying hard for her, but I was wondering if you and your great warriors would help me. I know it helps if many people pray for someone. I think she is just hurting and feeling so sick, that she feels like there is no hope for her. I told her to find strength through God and her son when she feels like she can't go on. I always check her posts to see how she's doing and try to tell her positive things in response. She has started writing her son a journal of things she wants him to know and little pieces of advice to help him get through life, which is smart of her to do and she seems okay right now with this. Can you all help pray for a miracle for her, so her son can see what a great mommy she is in life and not by paper? Miracles happen ONLY through GOD and a lot of people on What to Expect sure does pray for one. Can we also pray for her baby sister Evan that she gets her voice and is able to tell Leah that she loves her?
