We even shared the same due date for our second babies. We each had a daughter, so we were both thinking "blue." Then, four months into my pregnancy, I miscarried. Darleen consoled me, but I still felt a pang of jealousy when she gave birth to a beautiful boy. As my two-year-old daughter, Cyndi, sat in a rocking chair cuddling baby Jimmy, I broke down. God, I prayed, please let me be happy for Darleen. Darleen put her arm around me. "I'll always share my son with you," she promised. Just as Jimmy was taking his first wobbly steps, Darleen moved to Kansas. We kept in touch, but it took us 15 years to arrange a trip to visit. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw handsome, almost-grown Jimmy. Shortly after, we moved to North Carolina, where we got word that Jimmy had joined the Navy and was stationed nearby. On his first leave, he didn't have enough time to make it back home to Kansas, so he came to stay with us. "He always has a home here," I wrote to Darleen. Jimmy started coming to visit quite a bit. He palled around with Cyndi, and they became fast friends. But then I noticed something more: Cyndi and Jimmy were in love. On their wedding day, I remembered Darleen's promise to me all those years before: "I'll always share my son with you." Today we also share two grandsons. <*}}}>< <http://www.holypostage.com/>Custom Faith-based U.S. Postage <*}}}>< + <*}}}>< <http://astore.amazon.com/halthekin-20>Catholic on Amazon <*}}}>< <*}}}>< <http://www.halfthekingdom.org/on+allposters+today.html>on AllPosters today <*}}}>< + <*}}}>< <http://www.holypostage.com/>Holy Postage <*}}}>< <*}}}><<http://www.halfthekingdom.org/>Half the <http://www.halfthekingdom.org/>Kingdom!<*}}}>< + "A person is a person, no matter how small."
