On June 3, Benedict XVI received in audience the prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, Archbishop Angelo Amato, and approved the decrees on the recognition of four miraculous facts due to a blessed one and three servants of god. The fourth decree concerns a miraculous healing attributed to the intercession of the Servant of God Marie Alphonsine Danil Ghattas (Mariam Soultaneh), religious of Jerusalem, co-founder of the Sisters of the Rosary, still very active, in particular to Christians of Palestine. Mother Marie-Alphonsine Danil Ghattas was born in Jerusalem on 4 October 1843 and died on the Feast of the Annunciation 25 March 1927, at the time she had predicted. When she was 14, she entered the congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Apparition. There she had private revelations of Virgin Mary asking her to found a Palestinian congregation known as the "Sisters of the Rosary". In 1880, seven young girls prepared by Fr. Joseph Tannous, priest of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, received the religious habit of the new foundation from the hands of Patriarch Bracco. Sister Alphonsine left the community of the Sisters of St. Joseph with the permission of Rome, and entered the new congregation. She received the habit from the hands of Bishop Pascal Appodia, Auxiliary and Patriarchal vicar, on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, 7 October 1883. In 1885, she went to the house of Jaffa in Galilee, near Nazareth, and the following year she founded a school for girls in Beit Sahour. Then she was sent to Salt in Transjordan with three sisters, then in Nablus, before returning in Jerusalem because of her health. After having recovered, she went to the house of Zababdeh. She assisted in his last moments Fr. Joseph Tannous, who has been his spiritual director and the co-founder of the Rosary Sisters. She returned to Bethlehem to open a sewing workshop, then in Jerusalem in 1909, and in Ain Karem to open an orphanage.
