Is Network Interference robustness enabled or disabled?

One particularly annoying thing is that AirPort drops ~30% of
packets making it unusable (I installed all updates, still doesn't
work). For now I am back to a regular ethernet cable (plugged to
the same wireless router; never looses a single packet), but I
wonder if there is a solution to that? Everything I found on the
internet is mostly random and doesn't really work.
