I must have Red-headed Woodpeckers on the brain.....
this afternoon about 5pm I got a brief glimpse of a dark bird with distinct
white patches on rump and wings, swooping into the trees on N. Triphammer
Rd, just across from the Asbury Church. We turned around, parked on the
shoulder south of the mailbox and spent some minutes scrutinizing the area,
while traffic whizzed by. No luck in relocating, but perhaps someone can
check and have better luck.
