This morning as I walked the puppy, an ocean of blackbirds was clacking overhead, surging in a northerly direction. Plenty of robins everywhere, too.
Also, two towhees were still calling to each other in the hedgerow-- not sure if they are our breeders lingering, or if the area is just attractive to a steady stream of migrants.
