As we headed in our driveway in Brooktondale yesterday a large, golden-colored bird flew up from trees near a wet area. I had a great look as it circled higher and higher, and think it had to be a first-year Golden Eagle, according to the picture in Sibley. Does it make sense that the storms might have pushed this bird a little more eastward than usual? (I know they are seen occasionally...) It's a great new yard bird!
