Hello all, Wednesday at 7pm the Cortland-Lime Hollow Bird Club will meet at the Lime Hollow Visitor Center to discuss Saturday's (Dec 17) Cortland Christmas Bird Count (4th oldest count in the state). We will discuss strategy, who's doing what area, and plans for the compilation dinner. It could be a good year for migrating waterbirds given there's still open water to the north, but things are starting to freeze over forcing birds southward. Count week starts this Wednesday and goes to next Tuesday. LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND ANY GOOD BIRDS (i.e. odd sparrows, Hermit Thrush, blackbirds, finches, rare raptors etc) in the count circle during this period!!
