I escaped to Mundy for a short time. Right at the entrance there were
chickadees giving continuous alarm calls and looking down at some particular
spot. I think probably there was a snake basking. Three Red-eyed Vireos, one
Scarlet Tanager also came and checked out the spot nervously. Then a Kingfisher
rattled for some time. I cautiously looked to see if I could see a snake, but
I did not want to disturb the snake either. This is the time of the year when
they are basking and absorbing all the energy from the sun possible.
Then I came across another flock of chickadees in the center of Mundy, which
were accompanied by three or more Scarlet Tanagers, one Chestnut-sided that
still had chestnut on his sides, Red-bellied Woodpeckers, which were actually
hanging upside down and feeding of insects in an ash. Lots both young and
adult Robins feeding on dogwood fruits.

Lots of Monarchs were passing by whole day, one Green darner, couple of Black
Saddlebags also passed my windows. I think Blue Jays were also migrating, I saw
several of them passing my window. I also saw two Wandering Gliders!

Cheers
Meena
