This evening, at 2120, we saw three adult mammals face off over some fresh compost at our open compost pile. They formed a triangle 4' from each other-a raccoon, a striped skunk, and a gray fox. Question: who was the victor and got the spoils (pun intended)? Answer tomorrow.
We've also had a GREAT HORNED OWL perched on large, round hay bales in the field across the road, hunting rabbits. Only light enough to see one strike, which just missed. S. & S.
