Hi everyone, There are a couple of recent items on eBird that will likely appeal to birders in the Finger Lakes.
We just posted an article by Matt Young on Red Crossbills that covers the status and identification of flight calls of the different types of Red Crossbills in North America. The article covers taxonomy, known range, movements, preferred trees and flight calls. At the end of the article, there is a link to download the full article with sound files (the article is free, even though you add it to a cart to download it). http://ebird.org/content/ebird/news/red-crossbill-types We also have a new photo quiz up. http://ebird.org/content/ebird/news/fallquiz2012 Good eBirding, Chris Christopher Wood eBird Project Leader Cornell Lab of Ornithology http://ebird.org -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
