Sorry for the late post. Larue St. Clair, Jackie Bakker, and Chuck Gibson
reported yesterday morning three unidentified shorebirds on the wildlife
drive at Montezuma NWR that they think may have been RED KNOTS. The birds
were in the first pool along I90 (just after Benning Marsh, it sounds
like). If knots, they were apparently not in breeding pluamge as they did
not appear as red as once would expect, but size and shape indicated they
might be knots. Those are all the details I have, but if anyone is in the
area today it would be worth taking a look, and please post if you find
them! Two Ruddy Turnstones and a few peeps and Semipalmated Plovers were
also around.
