John & I saw a juv. bald eagle circling over the gully & then flying west
towards Cayuga Lake in the general area of where the nest is in the tall trees
along the lake.

At Aurora on our way to Ithaca at 10:45 a.m., besides Canadas, we saw tight
clusters, as well as long "streams", of ducks from just north of the boathouse
down to the gravel bar coming out from the creek. Lots of white mist rising
from the lake surface but coming home it appeared to be dark gray.

North of Aurora, close along the shore across from the cemetery were at least
20 black ducks. Over Cayuga Mall & Aurora I saw male harriers. At the corner of
Atwater & Lake Ridge Rds. heading north we saw 5 crows mobbing a raven. It
landed in the nearby pasture & just sat there while the crows went into a tree
across the corner. When a car passed us as we sat watching, the raven took that
opportunity to escape southward. The crows didn't pursue.

We had -10 deg. at our place in Union Springs 15 min. ago. Brrrrrr. Coldest in
several yrs.. Lots of ice on the lake today.
