A few minutes ago I stepped outside to call in one of the dogs - and flushed what I guessed was a small owl from above the bird feeder. I played the screech-owl whinny recording and got a response in about 30 seconds. A new yard bird - hanging around the feeder, waiting for rodents to come in for spilled seeds!
