I happened to be on foot in Ithaca's Fall Creek neighborhood about 1:45 yesterday afternoon, so I looked in on the Merlin nest along Cascadilla Creek, and watched for a few minutes. It was pretty quiet, but I did see one falcon leave the nest, take a series of perches in nearby trees over the course of five minutes, and finally return to the nest vocalizing. Nice treat!
At 2:15 this morning I had a different kind of treat. A bear ravaged my sunflower feeder. The dogs made a huge commotion about it, and it took a long to to quiet them, Yawn! Wonder if I can fix this? -Geo -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
