Earlier this afternoon Luke Seitz had an immature FRANKLIN'S GULL heading south from Taughannock State Park. Checks of Stewart and Myers in the last hour have proven fruitless, although I had an interesting bird far to the north from Stewart, but it stayed too distant to be sure of anything. This is part of an incredible incursion of Franklin's Gulls in the northeast happening today, with multiple reports from Lake Ontario and dozens on the coast. All gull flocks, whethet on the lake or in farm fields, should be checked over the next few days.
