Further to earlier comments, the species does seem to be surging northward. Birder friends in NYC have reported them from Central Park and in every one of the borroughs! Interestingly the migrant Anax Junius (Common Green Darner) was just reported from NYC yesterday, a good two weeks after our first sighting here. John
