Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

     1/1: A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen at the Visitor’s Center.

     1/2: 14 SANDHILL CRANES were seen from East Road.







Cayuga County

------------




     1/3: 20 SNOW BUNTINGS were seen at Fair Haven State Park.







Onondaga County

------------




     A RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD present since fall was seen daily at feeders on Doyle 
Road east of Baldwinsville.

     12/30: A WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW was seen at the Marshy Spits on the west 
side of Onondaga Lake south of the Honeywell Center.A COMMON GRACKLE continues 
on Sunview Drive in Elbridge. A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen from East Genesee 
Street in Syracuse.

     1/1: 2 AMERICAN WIGEON were seen at Jamesville Beach Park. A LESSER 
BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen at the inner Harbor south of Onondaga Lake in 
Syracuse. A SHORT-EARED OWL was seen in various locations flying over Onondaga 
lake. A FIELD SPARROW and a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET were seen at Three Rivers WMA 
north of Baldwinsville. 

     1/2: A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen at Three Rivers WMA.

     1/3: A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen on Rt. 321 near Carpenter’s Brook 
Fish Hatchery west of Marcellus.A HOARY REDPOLL was seen on the West Shore 
Trail of Onondaga Lake in Syracuse.26 RED CROSSBIILLS were seen on Shakham Road 
in the Morgan Hill State Forest. An ICELAND GULL was seen in the Inner Harbor 
south of Onondaga Lake.

     1/4: 22 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen on Shakham Road in the Morgan Hill 
State Forest. A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL wa seen in the Inner Harbor south of 
Onondaga Lake.125 COMMON REDPOLLS were seen in Fabius. A PEREGRINE FALCON was 
seen on Penoyer Road in Fabius.







Oswego County

------------




     12/29: 30 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen on Stone Hill road near Willianstown.

     1/1: An ICELAND GULL was seen at Lock 6 in Oswego.A PEREGRINE FALCON was 
seen in Brietbeck Park in Oswego. A HERMIT THRUSH was seen in Richland.

     1/2: A ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK and an EVENING GROSBEAK were seen on Clark 
Road in Oswego.

     1/3: A SAVANNAH SPARROW was seen on Bishop Road in Richland.







Madison County

------------




     12/29: Numerous EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen on Carpenter Road, Crumb Hill 
Road, Jones Road and Paris Hill Road. 14 RED CROSSBILLS were seen on Mariposa 
Road in Deruyter. 2 RED CROSSBILLS were seen in Tinsley Hill Road.

     1/1: 2 HOARY REDPOLLS were seen on Mile Strip Road south of Canastota. 10 
RED CROSSBILLS were seen in the Morrow Mountain State Forest. 3 SHORT-EARED 
OWLS were seen on Burleson Road south of Oneida Castle.

     1/3: 1 SNOWY OWL was seen near the Fenner Wind Farm. 

     1/4: 3 SNOWY OWLS were seen at the Fenner Wind farm. 3 LESSER BLACK-BACKED 
GULLS were seen at the end of the North Main Street Extension on the south 
shore of Oneida Lakenorth of Canastota.







Oneida County

------------




     12/31: 2 CACKLING GEESE were seen on Lake Road in Lakeport. A LESSER 
BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen at the Verona Baach Lighthouse on Oneida Lake.

     1/1: A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen in Utica, A WOOD DUCK was seen on Sholtz 
Road in Verona.

     1/4: An ICELAND GULL was seen at Sylvan Beach on Oneida Lake.







Herkimer County

------------




 EVENING GROSBEAKS continue almost daily at feeders on  the Military Road and 
in Salisbury Center.

     12/29: 2 LONG-TAILED DUCKS were seen in the Mohawk River near Moss Island 
in Little Falls.

     12/31: A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen near a residence in Salisbury Corners.

     1/3: A WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW was seen at a feeder at the corner of Albany 
and Sodcony Roads south of West Winfield.
