Greetings. This is the Syracuse Area Rare Bird Alert for the week of 
July 20, 2021

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------
     The ROSEATE SPOONBILL continues and was last seen today at Knox-Marsellus 
Marsh. 
     7/20: A WOOD STORK was discovered at Knox-Marsellus Marsh and continues to 
be seen up to today.
     7/22: A LEAST BITTERN and 12 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were seen at Guy 
Baldessarre Marsh .
     7/25: A CERULEAN WARBLER continues at the forested area of Armitage Road. 
3 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS were seen in the Main Pool. A LEAST BITTERN was seen 
in Tschache Pool.


Onondaga County
------------

     7/25: A SEDGE WREN was found in the big fields area of Three Rivers WMA 
north of Baldwinsville.


Oswego County
------------

     7/21: A WHIMBREL was found at the Sandy Pond Outlet of Lake Ontario.
     7/22: A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was seen at the Lakeside Cemetery in 
Bernhards  Bay on Oneida Lake. 3 PIPING PLOVERS continue at the Sandy Pond 
Outlet.
     7/23: A SEDGE WREN was found on Baldwin Road in the Town of Volney.
     7/24: 2 ACADIAN FLYCATCHERS were found on Gray Road south of Oswego.
     7/25: 3 ACADIAN FLYCATCHERS were found on Cowan Road south of Hannibal.
     7/26: A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER continues at Sunset Bay Park on Lake Ontario.


Oneida County

     7/22: A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was seen at Sylvan Beach on Oneida Lake.
