Dear All, It was amazing meeting you all in Tunis and collaborating on awesome ideas for CC Arab world. As we have all settled into reality it is time to launch everything, The email will be a bit long , sorry.
As agreed the CC Iftar will be unique to each city, yet one unifying factor would be the video that would combine artists from the whole arab world talking about how CC have helped them or how they use CC licenses / CC licensed work, which also help us promote CC to all the attendees of the Iftar who are not familiar with CC. 1- CC IFTAR VIDEO WHAT WE NEED? - Each city to provide us with a raw video of at least two artists ( 30-60 secs each) talking about their CC experience along the lines of the questions outlined above, - I have shared a drop box folder with some of you to upload the videos to, if you have not received an invite email me to add you. If you do not want to download files to dropbox, you can just email them to me and Naeema. - Each city please provide us with the name(s) of person(s) to follow up on details, ask questions... DEADLINE: 15 July as Naeema, who has graciously volunteered to do the remixing and compiling, will need time to compile everything. NOTES: Cities not doing an iftar, please still feel free to submit your own videos as it will enrich the whole project. If you are nit able to get a video, you can also send audio files or an image with a quote, feel free to be creative. @Moeed - We will need the same from the turkish team :) Language can be english or arabic, if another langauge is used, please provide us with a transcription in one of these two languages NO NEED TO WORRY if the video is just a skype recording or something captured with a flipcam, this is what we are going to do here in Beirut 2- RECAP OTHER CC IFTAR POINTS AGREED UPON - CC Iftar tentative date for all citiies is August 9 -During the event we will be using the #CCIftar Hashtag to cross share our experiences on twitter, countries with good internet will have livestreaming. Feel free to send any additional questions to Naeema or me, of course Naeema can be of more help in terms of formats, and other artistic aspects.
