gns3.net looks neat but it may be unnecessary for the IPExpert lab.
Looks like all the heavy lifting has been done already. This net file
above has been working great for me, the switches have some inherent
problems as do all dynamips builds but hey... its free....

Tony,

The best one I've seen, the one that's easiest to use, is an integrated
package called GNS3. The installer comes with everything you need except
IOS images.

GNS3.NET

As for using the labs from volume 1, I'm planning to do quite a bit of
my work on a Dynamips setup, so I'm hoping that much of it can be done
in such an environment. I expect that it can as long as it doesn't
require the generation of tons of traffic, as the Dynamips solutions are
definitely CPU bound to a few hundred PPS at most.

since I as far as I can tell, I could load it on my laptop and simulate
a network of Cisco 7200 Series routers and 3550 switches. Is this
correct? I've read about guys that study 97% of the time with this
software and even passed the test on the first try.

Volume 1 (Focus Labs)" to study? If so, what do you think? Can this be
used on Dynamips?
