Hi, According to most Cisco documentation, a stub area wont allow type 5 LSA's, but will still allow type 4 (ASBR summary). In some Cisco press material, its stated that both type 4 and 5 LSA's are blocked in a stub area.
My own labs show that both type 4 and 5's are removed from the OSPF database upon making it a stub area. My concern is, whether the type 4 is actually received, but since the type 5 is not there, it just discards it anyways? Hope someone can give some input regarding theory-behavior Vs. real-life behavior... Thanks!
