Hey N.
What these guys are saying is correct... You are only allowed one IP
address on the switch to manage it. Whether you put that IP address on
vlan 1, vlan 10 or vlan 100 or put an IP address on all 3 vlans it
really doesn't matter but only 1 will be active "UP" at any given time.
The 2950's are nice Layer 2 device's but you will need a trunk to a
router to route the packets to another subnet!

Simulator?
What sort of simulator?
If that's supposed to be a 2950 its not "simulating" very well :P

Well,
i tried something on the simulator that I had,
I
interface FastEthernet0/2
switchport access vlan 2
switchport mode access
|
|
|
!
interface Vlan1
no shut
ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
!
interface Vlan2
no shutdown
ip address 10.10.10.1 255.0.0.0
!
With this hopefully you should be able to ping both these interface
IP addresses. But mind , these are no the SVI, these are just the
addresses that can be assigned to the IP stack in the switch for
management purpose so that you can assign the management of the
switch by telnetting.
I have used 2950-24 switch.

Nishikant
