At least you aren't taking your lab at RTP! Those dudes start EARLY out there (7:30) and it is East Coast time. I feel sorry for the folks traveling from the West Coast to take it - must be brutal.
Well, good luck!! Let us know how it goes! p.s. Does the proctor in San Jose talk about his massive truck and livestock during the lunch break? Haha (RTP joke for anyone who has been there) -----Original Message----- From: Michael Lipsey [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, October 28, 2009 3:22 PM To: Fairbanks, Erik J. CTR USN NCSTFE-N3; [email protected] Subject: RE: [OSL | CCIE_RS] Countdown to your lab! Of course nobody can say what their OEQs were without breaking NDA. The ones I got were hard for me because I was weak in those areas. I did not feel that all of them were 'CCNP' level questions but that is my opinion. I'm not weak in those areas any longer. I sat for my test back on August 26th. I failed because of the OEQs, I am pretty sure I passed the lab portion based on the percentages in my score report. I wish I had given myself a little more time for this test; I did not anticipate how demanding my work schedule would be over the last 3 months - as such I am a little further behind the ball than I would like to be. Still, I am far more prepared than I was last time. The problem is, there are more variables now than there were last time too. So it could be that I am in just as bad a shape now, even though I know more as I was back in August. It just depends on my karma I guess. =-) Whatever happens - happens, I'll give it my best shot and we'll see how it works out. I should be sleeping. =-) -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, October 27, 2009 11:07 PM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: RE: [OSL | CCIE_RS] Countdown to your lab! Mike, How long ago did you make your last lab attempt? I took mine on the 31st of August and my OEQs were very fair - just as advertised. If you had been actually studying for the lab, they weren't a big deal. I managed to botch up my lab attempt in a whole other bunch of ways...hahaha I am still trying to figure out what those ways were, but that is a whole different story! Regardless, good luck and STAY CALM! :) -Erik -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael Lipsey Sent: Wednesday, October 28, 2009 9:56 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [OSL | CCIE_RS] Countdown to your lab! Thanks guys, I appreciate the support. It was a decent drive up to San Jose from LA - a little windy but not bad. I listened to my IP Expert lectures focusing on the things that I felt I needed to. I think it was helpful. Overall, I know what I know pretty well but being that they had added what they added to the blue print - well I'm worried about 'CCIE Lab Karma' in that I'll get tested on that which I know the least. =-) Plus, I'm still completely freaked out about the OEQs which are what got me last time. I have not heard a single passing story yet which is not encouraging. All of the feedback we have seen so far - none of it has made me feel more confident. Such is life. I'll let you know how it goes after. =-) -Mike -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, October 27, 2009 12:25 PM To: [email protected] Subject: CCIE_RS Digest, Vol 45, Issue 153 Send CCIE_RS mailing list submissions to [email protected] To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://onlinestudylist.com/mailman/listinfo/ccie_rs or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to [email protected] You can reach the person managing the list at [email protected] When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of CCIE_RS digest..." The final config on R5 and R6 has the following key: key chain R2R5R6 key 2 key-string 7 08285C4B1109000506343E563E24167E accept-lifetime 00:00:00 Jan 1 2008 infinite send-lifetime 00:00:00 Feb 1 2008 infinite and has key R2R5R6 key used on R5 and R6 and not R2 interface Serial0/1/0 ip address 150.100.100.5 255.255.255.0 ip rip authentication mode md5 ip rip authentication key-chain R2R5R6 The proctor guide has no explanation for the use of the key or has it configured: My debug ip rip shows on R5 /* and similar relative to R6 */ ct 10 09:08:08.478: RIP: received packet with MD5 authentication .Oct 10 09:08:08.478: RIP: ignored v2 packet from 150.100.100.6 (invalid authentication) Since there is a PVC between 5 and 6 then we would need to create a similar configuration on 5 & 6 as we have in R2 since you can't have multiple key on the same RIP interface(per the question).
