I'm not sure that you have the concepts wrong because everything looks correct
from what I can see. Basically when you call the route-map on your
default-originate command you are instructing your router to inject the default
route to your neighbor (10.1.12.1) "ONLY" if there's a route to 12.2.0.0

Does the route to 12.2.0.0 already exist?
Does your router inject the default route when you remove the route-map?

Hi Steve,

the problem just start fro me there. If redistr. or filtering is now working how
can I go with it.Just only checking config .I want to do something else to go
step by step.As below I try to send a default route to my bgp neighbor.Maybe I
got the concept wrong or my config is wrong. But I can not trooblshoot with it.

R2#sh access-lists
Standard IP access list 2
    10 permit 12.2.0.0
R2#sh ro
R2#sh rout
R2#sh route-map
route-map r2, permit, sequence 10
  Match clauses:
    ip address (access-lists): 2
  Set clauses:
Policy routing matches: 0 packets, 0 bytes
R2#sh run | s bgp
router bgp 65502
 no synchronization
 no bgp fast-external-fallover
 bgp log-neighbor-changes
 network 2.0.0.0
 neighbor 10.1.12.1 remote-as 65501
 neighbor 10.1.12.1 timers 60 300
 neighbor 10.1.12.1 default-originate route-map r2
 neighbor 10.1.23.3 remote-as 444
 neighbor 10.1.23.3 timers 60 300
 no auto-summary
R2#

Hello,

If your route-map was used in redistribution then you were filtering routes or
changing metrics, etc. If that's the case you should be able to see if the
routes show ip in the routing tables and if they look correct or not. Some of
the other guys may no more than I do in this area but that's how I would check.
