Thanks Tyson - to complete the post the answer is below:

R2#sho ip bgp vpnv4 vrf R7 10.1.7.0
BGP routing table entry for 7:7:10.1.7.0/24, version 10
Paths: (1 available, best #1, table R7)
  Advertised to update-groups:
        1
  Local
    10.1.37.7 from 0.0.0.0 (150.1.3.3)
Origin incomplete, metric 1, localpref 100, weight 32768, valid,
sourced, best
      Extended Community: RT:1:100
      mpls labels in/out 21/nolabel

Notice the Extended community value there - I should have known. That is
less an MPLS question and more a BGP question - seems like I've identified
another area I need to focus on.

show ip bgp vpnv4 vrf <vrf-name> <prefix>

Any time you want to see communities attached to a prefix you use show ip
bgp [type and other variables] <prefix>

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_RS] Verifying MPLS VPN

I'm not sure there is an answer for this but take this bit of MPLS VPN
config:

ip vrf CAT2
 rd 11:11
 route-target export 11:1100
 route-target import 8:800
!
ip vrf R7
 rd 7:7
 route-target export 1:100
 route-target import 2:200

Now this refers to 2 VRF configurations with route-targets configured.

In my mockup on the lab topology basically this configuration is on my R2 -
the whole thing works just as I expect it to and on the other PE router at
the other side of my network I can complete the VPN to the other CE router
as intended.

My question is - where can I see the extended communities or the
'route-targets' via a show command reflected in the mpls forwarding table or
in the BGP route table?

I hope that question is clear - what I'm looking for - is there a show
command that will show me the 11:1100 for example in the prefix
advertisement in MP-BGP?

Maybe that was a better way to ask it...

I'll do my best to clarify if I can.

Thanks,
-mike
