Kingsley,

I haven't tested peer with 12.4(24)T2. It was in other versions. They
wouldn't synchronize even after 30 minutes or so.

You could try to specify the NTP version on each side. Possibly they are
choosing a different version. I haven't had problems with ntp broadcast.

ntp broadcast version <1-3>

Hi Tyson

ntp peer is working for me. I just replaced peer instead of server on the
client.

But the ntp broadcast option didn't work for me.

Client

(config-if)#ntp broadcast client

Server

(config-if)#ntp broadcast

Do we need to use any specific NTP version for broadcast.

With regards

Kings

Thanks Mohamed,

The only thing I would add is I have not been able to get NTP Peer to work
in many 12.4T images. Just doesn't work at all. If the choice is there use
server.

It depends on the question. You could also ask the proctor for
clarification.

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Security] NTP with peer or sever option

Hi all

In the lab, if we are asked to configure NTP for time synchronization,
should we use "ntp peer" or "ntp server" on the client?

With regards

Kings
